Must You See It To Believe It?
Welcome to this week’s Mindful Weighs Wednesday! Today I “weigh in” on self doubt, and the importance of believing before you see. Enjoy!
Wayne Dyer says, “I will see it when I believe it”. Most of us operate on the opposite thought, and it can be quite challenging to achieve something if you don’t believe it to be possible. We constantly sabotage ourselves in accomplishing our dreams, and especially where weight loss is concerned.
Your belief system is creating your life. The fantastic news is that as a human you have the ability to manage your mind, and create beliefs that serve you. You can choose to keep a crappy belief system, or replace it with a good one which will give you the results you deserve. It will seem odd at first, and you must continuously practice the new thoughts in order to replace the ones you’ve been telling yourself for years. Once you begin to dismantle the thoughts you’ve had and create new ones, your brain will want to tell you things like - that’s a terrible idea, it will never work, we will die if we try! Just notice it - become a watcher of your brain and the self doubt - know that it is natural. It is natural to occur, but you don’t have to stay victim to it.
Do you believe you can’t be successful in losing weight? Do you want to believe that? Often times we don’t even realize we are choosing to think this because our self doubt tricks us into believing it is just reality. Why don’t we take a moment and start doubting our self doubt? Fascinating idea right? If you want to become thinner, healthier, more in control of your eating you must be able to move past the self doubt. We are not entitled to an easy life, and if you want true growth there will be uncomfortable feelings - but you can handle uncomfortable.
I encourage you take time to see what is going on in your mind this week. Ask yourself - What are some negative things about losing weight? What is your greatest worry/fear about losing weight? What is the reason you might think you don’t deserve to be you natural weight? I believe you can do it - and can’t wait to see it!
