How To Get Over The Obstacles in Weight Loss

Welcome to Mindful Weighs Wednesday.  I was recently speaking to someone who was telling me a story about how he lost 70 pounds in the last 5 months.  He looked great - I had to know how he did it.  He told me he changed his lifestyle, and had a compelling reason, therefore was able to accomplish his amazing change.

His compelling reason was the fact his doctor told him he was one pound away from facing weight loss surgery for health reasons.  He informed the doctor the next time he was seen he would be down in his weight, and he stuck to that statement.  He had a compelling reason to change his lifestyle, and in changing his current beliefs about his weight, he accomplished the weight loss.  A compelling reason will give you a powerful and irresistible effect toward a course of action.  It is your no matter what reason to accomplish you goals.  Take some time today and really consider your reason.  What will make it inevitable for you to lose weight?  Do you want to do it for your health, or as an example to your kids, or maybe you just want to look good in your bikini come July vacation - whatever it is make sure it is a really powerful reason for you.
Having a compelling  reason will help you when your brain pretends to be confused.  Recently a gal was telling me she didn’t know where to start - a new exercise program, beginning a new way for food shopping and prep, or organize her time differently.  See what happens here - your brain pretends to not know what to do, and so you do nothing.  Don’t allow that.  Your compelling reason will get you over the obstacles as they arise.  So remember your reason, make a decision on what to do, and go after it!
