How Important Are Your Questions?

What do you have planned for the weekend?  Who are you meeting up with?  Any idea what time the fun starts?  Who is going to be there?  Are you looking forward to it?  Our brain asks so many questions any given day.  Have you ever stopped to think about the quality of the questions you ask yourself?

Our brains are designed to look out for danger and keep us protected.  The brain therefore is wired to look for the negative.  This was important when we lived in caves and needed to ensure the tiger didn't jump out from behind the bush and attack, however most of us are no longer in caves and typically the neighbors dog is the closest thing to a tiger jumping out of our bushes.  We need to become more deliberate in what we ask ourselves if we want to evolve.

It is super important to ensure you ask yourself good questions, in order to find the best answers for you to move to your best self.  For example - if you find yourself asking questions like - why can't I stop drinking too much wine, why can't I lose weight, why do I get such anxiety when I go for a long drive, your brain will be on a mission to tell you all the answers.  Your answers may be along the lines of - because drinking is so much fun, your family was always heavy so you will be too, or you may get into a horrible accident with all the crazy people on the road. The way these questions are phrased will tell you all the  reasons why you can't do something. It is when you believe these answers that you remain stuck, and not able to accomplish your goals.

Instead, I want to encourage you to ask questions more along the lines of - how can I find fun ways to drink less, how could I enjoy my life without food being so important, how can I find ways to enjoy the drive more peacefully.  Now your brain will get to work on give you some answers that will be useful in taking you to the next level.  You have a much better shot at accomplishing your goals when the answers you find are more useful, and not so self sabotaging.  Your brain wants to find the answers - make sure you set it up for success!  I know you can do this - the question is - do you?  Have an amazing weekend!

Each week I offer 2 free mini sessions, first come first serve, to women who want to drink less, and end the negative chatter in the morning.  Sign up here to discuss how my program may help you feel more in control of your life.  Once you sign up you will receive a call in number and appointment reminder.  Some may not be a fit, and that is fine - I consider it a privilege to offer free help in advance.
