Winning In Your Amazing Life
Mind management will take a lot of practice, does not always come easy, and you may not notice immediately the big picture benefits. Picture Tom Brady (pretty good picture right? lol…) - I mean, specifically imagine all the times he has to practice throwing the football, over and over and over. He is one of the greatest QBs around and has one multiple Super Bowls. The daily ball work may seem like a grind, but the consistency and repetition is what contributes to the big picture. This is what we need to do with your brains - train them daily.
Keep in mind your primative brain works on a motivational triad of seek pleasure, avoid pain and do it all as efficiently as possible in order to survive. We no longer need to live in survivor mode. I mean lets face it, you are reading this on a phone or a laptop, likely in the comfort of your warm home or local cafe - you are surviving quite nicely as is. So in order to take your life to the next level you need to begin managing your brain with a new standard.
My teacher, Brooke Castillo, instead encourages the triad of
1. Seek growth
2. Embrace discomfort
3. Expend massive effort wisely
Your brain is an amazing tool. This new triad goes against conventional thinking, but when you can direct your brain and use this tool to your highest ability you will absolutely begin seeing changes in your life. You will feel doubt, fear and discomfort - and thats ok. It will be perfectly normal to have these feelings. The key will be to reel in primitive brain, notice that a little discomfort will not kill you, and take your life to the next level. You are in charge of your life - now go after your wildest dreams!
