How Will You Feel When You Get to Your Goal?

Imagine how you will feel when you get to the weight you are aiming for, or drinking exactly as you planned.  Maybe you think you will feel happy, or proud.  For some of you that world would only exists when you arrive at the finish line.  I want to encourage you to begin feeling that way now, without the scale confirming your weight, and without the leftover wine as evidence.  Truly think of how you will feel, and think about why you will feel that way.

Why we do anything in this world is because we think it will make us feel a certain way.  Let’s take the example of losing weight.  Right now you may be someone who thinks you will feel happy when you lose your weight.  If being thin equals happiness why are there are a lot of miserable thin people in the world?  The difference is simple - each person has different thoughts.  Different thoughts create different feelings.  Really take the time to think about this.  When you understand every emotion is available to you, you begin to feel empowered knowing you have the option to choose what serves you - you truly are in control.

You need to start feeling happy and proud now in order to reach your goals - negative feelings and beating yourself up along the way will not serve you.  You are in charge of how you feel.  Taking the time to become more aware of what you are thinking is helpful because it allows you to start deciding on purpose if you want to continue thinking the same thoughts.  Understand every thought is a choice.

If you want to evolve to the next best version of yourself you need to start thinking the next best version of thoughts.  Thinking new thoughts consistently will build a new belief system which will get you there.  Don’t be hurried to just to rainbow and butterfly thoughts.  I encourage you to step outside yourself, build the awareness of your current thoughts, and then decide on purpose the thoughts that will make you feel better throughout the journey to reach your goals.
