Why Fear Fails You

How do you deal with fear?  Fear is defined as an unpleasant emotion cause by the belief that someone or something is dangerous, likely to cause pain, or a threat. In the past fear has been important to our survival because it kept us safe.  Fear is not a useful emotion when we are not in danger, and often is the biggest thief in reaching our dreams.

I recall my very first sales interview when one of the questions was - what do you fear most?  My answer was fear of failing.  I recall the sales manager saying - one day you will change that answer and will be excited to embrace success.  It has been many years, many sales calls, and many Brooke Castillo teachings later, but I get it.  We experience fear when we do something new, when we challenge ourselves, when we face the unknown  When we can embrace that feeling, and understand it is a normal part of growing, we don’t need to avoid or resist it.

When we fear fear we may reach for the extra food or wine in order to not experience this “unpleasant” emotion.  Typically this happens because we “believe” we can not handle the unpleasant feeling.  Once you step into the fear, you open your heart to take the action in life needed to create something that excites you.  You begin forming a new belief system, and an entirely new vision of you weighing less, or drinking less.  You are only limited to what you believe you can accomplish.  Stop living from you past, step into the exciting opportunities in front of you, and watch the magic happen!

Each week I offer 2 free mini sessions, first come first serve, to women who have had weight loss surgery and find themselves still struggling with food, or have developed a new struggle with overdrinking.  If you want to feel more in control and peaceful  Sign up here to discuss how my program may help you.  Once you sign up you will receive a call in number and appointment reminder.  Some may not be a fit, and that is fine - I consider it a privilege to offer free help in advance.
