If Wine after Work is Good, Why Do You Feel Bad?

Welcome back to Thinking about Drinking Thursday, where we discuss tools to help you drink less.  This program is not for alcoholics.  If you are a highly functioning gal who has decided to just cut back on your drinking - this is for you.

How often do you find yourself getting home form work and SO looking forward to that glass of wine?  So many of the ladies I work with have similar stories.  You’ve had a long day at work, stressed, and anxious, as you think about all there is left to do on your lists.

The wine is what makes you feel better, or so you think.  Initially you take the sip, and ahhh.. breathe, it’s going to be ok.  But what often happens is one sip leads to many more, and soon enough you’ve had more than you wanted.  At this point it feels as if you are drinking against your own will.

You wake up the next morning and tell yourself all the reasons you should’ve stopped sooner.  Did you ever notice though, all the negative chatter and shame only makes you feel worse?  It truly serves no purpose.  Start paying attention to what you tell yourself - it’s usually not true, and you most likely would never speak to your girlfriends like that.  Start becoming curious and notice what you are thinking before and after your drinking.  This is the first step in making the change you are looking for.  It can be a fascinating exercise.

This type of drinking is simply a learned behavior.  I have the best news for you friend -  that means you can also unlearn it.  You may have tried willpower in the past and that doesn’t work.  This program is about learning to plan your drinking, feel in total control, waking up loving every amazing morning.  Reach out if you would like to learn more in a free mini session - I would love to chat.

Have an amazing day!
