This Is The #1 Question To Ask Yourself When Losing Weight

What is the story you tell of your life?  We all have one - some more entailed than others.  How you tell your story of weight loss is important because your brain is very sophisticated, and will always look for evidence to prove your thoughts correct.  So many of us go through life living on default, living unconsciously.  Losing weight is not simply telling your brain how many calories and exercise minutes you need each day.  If that worked we wouldn't have so many people struggling.   Long lasting weight loss comes from telling your brain how to think on purpose, and instruct it on what matters most.

Your brains motivation is to avoid pain and seek pleasure.    Remember, I teach your beliefs are simply thoughts you've thought over and over, and now you believe them to be factual.  Your thoughts always trigger your feelings, and you act based on how you feel.  So in order to make changes we need to know what your story is, what you are telling yourself.

In order for you to gain a better understanding of your story, I want to offer a tool to begin using today.  It is one simple question:

So What?

Do any of these sound familiar?

"I've never been able to lose weight"
"I'm a foodie"
"It's hard"
"Everyone else can eat it"
"Everyone will think I'm no longer fun"

To really understand your story ask yourself "So What?" This question will set you free.  This will be the answer to what you are making any of this mean.  The answer you come up with is all the drama and spinning you do, and this typically leads to results you don't want.

Once you reveal your thinking you can decide if that's how you want to continue the storyline.  One of the best parts about being human is you get to make up what any of this means.  Living on default and thinking something like "I've never been able to lose weight" will have your brain showing you all the evidence of how that is true.  Living on purpose, and deciding your thoughts could lead you to instead think - "this time will be different", "this time I'm drawing a line in the sand to change my life forever".

You get to decide.

You are the hero of your story.

How do you want to tell it?
